Mikanjuni Parish Opened

I am pleased and honored to stand before this morning at this occasion of the opening of this Mikanjuni Parish here in Tanga, Am thankful to God for his endless love to his people.

What a joy to see delegations from different places in Tanzania gathered here in order to witness our Parish opening for all long journey since it was a dream to now that the dream has come true.

The above words were spoken by Rev. Bishop Dr. Stephen Munga at the opening of Mikanjuni Parish on 17th July 2011, Sunday. Mikanjuni Parish was a sub parish to Makorora Parishbuilt at a cost approximately 171 TZS million that is mainly congregation efforts. It is estimated to have 1200 congregation members headed by Rev. Frank Mtangi.

The event also attended by NED-ELCT General Secretary Rev. James Mwinuka and other Pwani deanery pastors.

In his sermon Bishop Munga insisted Unity and risk to take tough decisions to people who have authority in different positions. We can stand firmly if only we dare to speak the truth to people who are doing wrong to us. He added as usually many of the resources available in the country,(Tanzania) have been badly misused simply because leaders have failed to take tough decisions.

It is through Christ that we will make a difference. It is his example that we need to follow courageously. It will be one task of this Congress to make an inventory and to see what we have really achieved.
