The Inauguration of Jubilee preparations Held in Tanga

When I looked at the mass gathered here I am reminded everything we have ever wished will come true by faith because we depend and dwell in Jesus Christ. These were the words of Rev Dr. Stephen Munga, the Bishop of North Eastern Diocese –ELCT while inaugurating the 125 years Jubilee preparations on 19th May 2013 at Kana Parish in Coastal deanery.
Congregants raising their offering for Prayer
After officiating he remembered all the missionary fathers, sisters along with the local laity who played their role to bring the Gospel. He said we are not only planning on celebrating 125years by merely food and drinks but we want to put a mark. We have to make enormous progress which is visible to meet our targets.
Dr Munga claimed that, despite the world of today is changing, the Diocese must enact changes as per technology changes. The technology for the time for missionaries is not the today's 21st century technology. He mentioned priorities the diocese has set as to the peak of celebration in 2015 July.

However, Dr Munga opened a fundraising for Jubilee preparation as to accomplish the priorities the diocese has set as to put a mark on celebration of 125 years of Gospel in 2015. He was supported by invited guests and congregations within the diocese.
You stay because you really and truly believe gospel values can make a difference in our sometimes bleak world today, he said.
The combined effort of everybody doing their parts will make that day so special for us he added.
Furthermore, some congregants seem to have little understanding of the function, Dr Munga insisted on arranging periodically events like this for them to participate fully.

Everyone was so appreciative of the inauguration ceremony. People were so gracious and loving to us. It was a great day, said one Parish member from Makorora.

After the Mass, visitors greeted one another and shared stories at a reception at Mbuyukenda Hostel & Restaurant.
