Foundation stone

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost, the work of constructing a new lecture theatre at SEKUCo is now taking off. On Sunday 28th August 2011, NED church leaders, pastors, SEKUCo staff and congregants from Magamba parish came together to celebrate the official inauguration of the construction. It was a unique blessing to be accompanied by Rt. Rev. Dr. Alfred Buss, the President of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, Germany, and his delegation, who had arrived in Lushoto one day earlier.

The ceremony began at the construction site where President Buss laid the foundation stoned, assisted by Bishop Stephen Munga and the pastors. Then followed a procession to Campus B where the worship service continued.

The Cross-bearer was Mr. Philemon Mtoi, SEKUCo warden

The Principal Dean Rev. Yohana Mmaka led the liturgy and Rev. Mbilu translated into German and Swahili. Rt. Rev. Buss preached and Rev. Dr. Ulrich Moller presented greetings from their Church, both of them underlining the significance of conveying God’s Love through the Service of Compassion.

The presence of guests from the Evangelical Church of Westphalia reminded us of what we have been witnessing since the beginning of the work at SEKUCo: We are not alone!

Adult, youth and children choirs sang songs of joy and hope!

Special SEKUCo T-shirts had been made for the occasion. Bishop Munga led the “auction” and the money collected will be used for the construction of the building

It was a service in the spirit of thanksgiving to what God continues to do for SEKUCo

We give thanks to God for all those who have committed themselves to support the work of SEKUCo!

Rev. Dr. Anneth Munga
